FIRST FLOOR GUEST BATHROOM

An antique canopy bath by Shanks will be the centrepiece of the first-floor guest bedroom

Progress is being made putting together the ornate Edwardian Shanks Canopy bath. I bought the bath in a poor condition. The metal work has been renovated and republished and the bath sent away to be vitreous re -enamelled. It’s been a labour of love bringing the bath back to life. Glass panels and a new bath waste will have to be made. In the background, is one of the thirty or so refurbished cast iron radiators painted to match or compliment the colour scheme of the house from my friends Rowan and Stafford at Heritage Cast Iron Radiators. Rowan and Stafford are perfectionists and pride themselves on refurbishing original antique radiators better than anyone else in the UK. They also have recently developed their own range of luxury towel radiators.
