I’m Stephen Yeomans and along with my wife Anita, children Thea and Beatrix and Basset Hounds, Gilbert and George, we are the new owners of Sussex House. Sussex House is a fine Georgian house in the historic town of Lewes, East Sussex. In the mid-fifties, Sussex House was converted into office space. I plan to restore the building back into its original use as a family home.
I run an interior design company and have a passion for restoring and building houses. My previous home appeared on Grand Designs and House of the Year (Ch4) and featured in magazines including the Sunday Times Magazine and FT How to Spend It. Over the years I’ve built up close a friendship with architect Sandy Rendel, builders and skilled tradespeople.
I love sourcing interesting and unusual fixtures and fittings. Over the course of the restoration I will share with readers of the blog the elements that will transform Sussex House into a contemporary home for my family.
Please feel free to get in contact if you require advice or would like help on your own house renovation or interior design project.
