ONE MONTH ON: FIRST FLOOR
The large bay window room at the rear of the first floor will become the master bedroom. Carpet and florescent lighting has been removed. Floorboards have been removed in the bay in readiness for laying plumbing for a large period Edwardian Shanks bath. A large ensuite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe will lead off from the master bedroom.
The previously large meeting room on the first floor has been subdivided into two rooms, a bathroom that will contain a an original Shanks canopy bath, and also an office. The soil stack has been routed internally, connecting with a drain near the front door. A vintage high-level toilet and a large pedestal mounted basin from the 1930's will be placed at the far end of the bath. Painted wood panelling, refurbished Barber Wilson taps, and large marble floor tiles will complete the bathroom design.
The room that will eventually become the office has been gutted; the floor has been taken up, florescent lighting and electrical trunking removed. The office will contain a Vitsoe shelving system, a Jean Pouve Trapeze Desk, an Eames Aluminium series chair and a pair of original rare Knoll Vincent Cafiero chairs.
Finally, the smaller meeting room on the first floor will be converted into a bedroom. Window shutters will reinstated and the panelling refurbished.
